The Rufus Porter Museum of Art and Ingenuity in Bridgton, Maine, now features a Genesis Enclosure lift, ensuring that everyone can experience its historic charm. Installed by the Garaventa Lift—New England, Maine branch, this Project of the Month for January highlights how accessibility can be seamlessly integrated into a historic space.

The museum, dedicated to the life and works of Rufus Porter, is housed in two historic buildings on Main Street. Open seasonally or by appointment, it needed an accessibility solution that would maintain its inviting and open atmosphere. The Genesis Enclosure was the perfect fit, blending effortlessly into the museum’s design while providing smooth and reliable access for all visitors.

Designed with historic preservation in mind, the Genesis Enclosure keeps the museum’s aesthetic intact while ensuring full mobility access. Its thoughtful installation demonstrates that accessibility can be both functional and visually appealing.
