The recent installation of the Hydraulic LULA at the Hazlehurst Condo on Halifax’s stunning waterfront is a shining example of how accessibility and modern design can come together seamlessly. Proudly executed by our long-term partners Lawtons Home Healthcare, this project features a sleek glass cab framed in black—a striking architectural element that enhances openness and complements the condo’s contemporary aesthetic. The condo’s exceptional architectural design earned it a nomination for the prestigious Lieutenant Governor’s Award in Architecture, while the Hydraulic LULA installation itself was recognized as Garaventa Lift’s Project of the Month for November.
This remarkable installation was made possible through the close collaboration between Justin States of Lawtons Home Healthcare and Dan Goodspeed of Kassner Goodspeed Architects. Together, they ensured the LULA elevator fit perfectly into the allocated space, addressing both functional and aesthetic needs. The project exemplifies how thoughtful design can transform an accessibility solution into a centerpiece of innovation and style.
